CALENDAR OF EVENTS
SATURDAY, July 19th & July 26th & August 2nd, 9th &16th – The Friends of Van Vorst Park is pleased to announce its 6th annual Farmer’s Market, each Saturday, starting June 14th and continuing through November from 8am-2pm. Vendors will be set up around the gazebo.
TUESDAY July 22nd-Captain McDonough’s East District Monthly Meeting
Public School 4, Bright and Varick Streets at 7:00 pm. The meeting is a presentation similar to COMPSTAT. The captain will respond to all questions, issues and concerns as well as provide presentations from the East District Detective Commander and the Narcotics and Street Crimes Unit.
WEDNESDAY, July 23rd – Films in Van Vorst presents “The Namesake” directed by Mira Nair in Van Vorst Park just east of the gazebo around 8:30 pm. immediately following the movie there will be a Q&A with the film’s editor Allyson Johnson, a VVP resident.
Wednesday August 6th Films in Van Vorst presents “Ratatouille” directed by Brad Bird in Van Vorst Park just east of the gazebo at sunset (about 8:15 pm) Additional films will be shown every other Wednesday through September 17th. Screenings will start around 8:30pm and rain dates will be the following Wednesday.
